How’d we get here?
In 2001, our founder and current President and CEO, Jason Rappaport, started taking on computers for repair and consulting business owners on adopting technology. Having spent his career in the IT industry, Jason saw the importance of technology growing in the business world. Technology was becoming as important in business as accounting and operations functions. So, he launched Innovative to do more than fix computers. He wanted to help people and businesses maximize the power of their technology.
For almost 25 years, we've expanded our scope of services to include voice, print and cybersecurity. No matter what technology we're supporting, consulting and education have always been our core mission. Yes, we're still a bunch of geeks at heart who love tinkering with computers. But as a strategy-first company, we're driven to help other businesses leverage technology to achieve their goals.
Since 2001, we’ve grown out of Jason’s house and currently reside in two convenient locations: our primary headquarters on Pennsylvania Avenue in Hagerstown, Maryland, and our office in Washington, D.C. We serve clients from western Maryland to West Virginia, to the DC Metro area and beyond, whether they’re in-office, remote or somewhere in between. We’re forever grateful for the many local businesses that have been with us from the beginning, and we can’t wait to see where our adventures take us next!

The highlights
2001-2008: early Beginnings & FIrst EMployees
Information Technology was becoming just as important as accounting and operations. Founder and President Jason Rappaport, alongside his then business partner, launched Innovative with the mission to help people and businesses maximize the power of technology.
In 2005, we welcomed our first employees to the team, including a young Tyler Snyder, our current CIO. Tyler joined the team as a technician, and a few short years later, in 2008, we welcomed Alex Samuel, our current VP of Operations, as an intern.
2008-2020: Building Bigger
As new team members came on board, we burst out of our small office and into our brand new, 10,000 square-foot, two-story headquarters at 13332 Pennsylvania Ave.
Innovative Inc also expanded our capacity for print & copy and phone & voice through the acquisition of two companies, CommLink Systems and Tri-State Services, LLC.
2020-Today: and Beyond!
The success of our work-from-home experiment resulted in a permanent flexible schedule for the entire team, and unleashed new business opportunities.
We added a second location on K Street in Washington, DC, and now employ full-time remote employees from Vermont to Texas.
